It was a clean, friendly hotel with an excellent breakfast. The staff were all pleasant.
I did not like the choice on the dinner menu
I loved the location and views of Loch Leven.
We prepaid for four rooms but only needed three. They took the fourth room from us and gave it to someone else but did not offer us any compensation. Poor form in my opinion, we were not happy about that.
The location & the views.
The room was slightly cramped with little space to put our suitcases but adequate.
A very good location for travelling through or staying
Very poor decor throughout but especially in the bedroom we occupied - it appeared to have been a long time since any interior design work / re-decorating had taken place.
Beautiful location and comfortable room.
We were told at check-in that we needed to make reservations right then for dinner that night if we wanted to eat at the hotel restaurant. The hotel associate made it sound as if the place was packed and we had to decide right then. At dinner, however, there were only a couple tables filled...most were empty. We felt cheated into a reservation commitment. That level of pressure was not appreciated.
Ideal to relax after travelling to and from North Scotland. The pipe on an evening made it special. The evening dinner menu was very good
Very firm beds
Stunning views across the Loch from the room, large bathroom with air-bath,large comfortable bed.Lovely period features throughout the hotel.
No bath-robes.A seminar was being held over the weekend which prohibited the use of the lounges,a shame, as the bar is small.
Great location and great views of the loch. Good breakfast and dining area/bar and nice lounge.
The room wasn't the best and not worth the money. It would have been nice 15 years ago but doesnt look like it's been redecorated since. The restaurant was also a bit pricy for what you got.
Very noisy section of restaurant on both evenings of stay. Charges for meal placed on the wrong bill.
They looked after groups / parties better then couples especially at meal times they had the first choice on the time they wanted to eat dinner and we had the times that were left either eating early or late.
Good location, friendly staff and efficient service
No real issues, shame the breakfast was buffet not cooked to order, but that's a minor complaint
The retaurant served locally sourced food. The staff were friendly. There were nice lounges to sit and relax in.
This was a transit stop for us - between Edinburgh and Skye. It was a beautiful surprise to discover the gorgeous hotel with stunning loch views!
It was a bit noisy as we were close to the wooden stairs, but it was not dramatic.
having meal while watching sunset over loch
bed was adequate but have had more comfortable beds
Stunning Views / Old Hotel with loads of character
Restaurant menu was same both nights. Disappaointed meal on 2nd night. Room we were expecting as per picture on website was not what we received. We did receive a Loch view room but in the new annex of the hotel which was disappointing. Hotel is in need of repair and a freshen up.
